Michael Fish
Wed 16th April 2008
Michael Fish has become a household name over the past two decades presenting the national weather on the BBC. Now semi-retired, he claims to be an expert at making the most of his money, and with good reason.
He saves for a rainy day, he keeps warm for less by switching energy supplier and takes to the skies for virtually nothing by collecting British Airways miles on his credit card.
In fact, Michael's already deep knowledge of how to get the best products on the market meant there's very little room for him to save money.
The only little chink in Michael's armour Martin could find is with his savings account, and even then, he's in a pretty decent account anyway.
He earns 6.19% interest, which is close to the best account currently available (6.5% from Kaupthing Edge). If he switched, he'd earn an additional £70 a year for every £20,000 of savings.
That was it, so Michael earned the coveted golden piggy for his MoneySaving prowess.
